To Endure

God has assured us of his presence .
He made us the way we are .
When something happens 
That reminds us of God's loving presence ,
Let us sing and smile joyfully

Life Has Taught

At my age I am not hard to love 
Just hard to fool.
Some people are going to reject me 
Simply because I shine too bright 
For them and that is okay .
I will keep smiling and shining 
Inside and out  .
Life has taught me 
That I can not choose 
How long  someone stays
In my life .
I can only be grateful
For the memories 
They left behind .

Free or Make Believe

My body sometimes feels sore
But I feel fine for the shape 
I am in .
I do not sleep well some nights
But I do wake up to face 
Another new day .
Muy wallet is not full
And I do not care  ,
But my stomach is .
I do not have everything 
I wanted 
But I have everything I need ,
I do not see everyone I want to see.
I have everything That is free.
At my age I use make believe
To see someone I never see.

Seasons of Pain

I have had my share of pain 
I have lived through anguish ,
Despair  and heartbreak .
In these moments  ,
I have felt the presence
And comfort of God .
Unlike any other times
In my life .
When those experiences pass,
I sure am thankful for the peace .
A part of my misses 
The closeness I felt to God 
In my seasons of pain .

Oh What Could Happen

I have spent many years 
Of my life 
Preparing myself for what could 
Go wrong .
But now I leave room 
In my heart 
For what could go beautiful right .
Now that I am much older  ,
Every day holds something

As I just sit  outside by myself .
I know gratitude does not have to be grand ,

I know love grows
