My Daughter

I pray someday my daughter 
Understand the love of God 
Is like an umbrella .
His love protects us from the storms 
Of life by keeping us safe and dry 
And shades us during the harsh dry periods 
That leave us parched .
I hope she learns the love of God 
Is truly like an umbrella 
Because his love is best shared .
As God shares with us ,
We shelter and shade others 
In their storms and wilderness times .
There is room for all of us 
Under God's wide protecting shade .

My Last Dream

I am in the old greyhound bus .
I just got off the bus and walked downtown  .
People ask why I am home ?
I tried to tell the people why .
I am not the man I once was .
I will not going  to my old house 
Any more .
The tears run down my face .
The people I once loved do not live 
There anymore .
I am not the same 
Because I can not touch the little guy .
I do not have much 
But I have the Lord .
Thank you Lord 
For your blessing on me .
Thank you for your mercy .
My grandson , the Lord will watch 
Over you always .
I will not touch you or see you 
But the Lord sure will for me .

My Boy

A while back a boy asked me 
What is wrong with your 1 hand 
And what is wrong with your 1 leg ?
Have you ever felt life was not fair ?
Have you ever felt sorry for yourself ?
I said boy , I feel sorry 
For the mom who has to raise her 3 children alone .
I have been this way since I was born .
I feel sorry for those who can not find a friend .
I feel sorry for the family
Who lost their home in a fire over Christmas .
I have a roof over my head .
I am able to get whatever I need .
I feel sorry for those who do not have food everyday .
I feel sorry for those who can not go to sleep
At night .
I feel sorry for those who can not find the Lord .
I am happy to have found the Lord 
And He is always with me .
I can not feel sorry 
Or feel life is not fair to me 
Because I have the Lord my boy .

I try to treat people
