They do not shake me no more . .
They do not know what I got today .

When the world was gentle enough
To let children worry about something

Yet they carry the weight

With a stone in their chest .

Mom's Casserole

She loved to make casseroles 
With forever love .
She always knew the right choice 
Of meat to put into it .
Her casseroles were special .
They always glued people to her table .
She tried to surpass the flavor 
And taste from the one casserole before .
We all loved to eat her food .
She always had enough for everyone 
To eat .
She did not like to use recipes .
She would make a lot of things from scratch .
Whenever mom was in the kitchen 
Or not she treated everyone and everything 
With love .

I love the warm April night we shared 
Going down a country road 
With friends during a hay ride .
As we go up a hill we almost 
Touch the moon as it glowed .
Our world is a little sweeter 
Because of each of us .
If some of the girls get cold hands

Until they are warmed up
As we go down the hill
We will all embrace the unknown together .

As we walk holding hands

We see the clouds dancing along .
It is ok to be  silent as we go around  .
