Every Moment Matters

The hardest part of getting old 

Is watching everyone else move on 

And leave me  and all the highways 

 I travel be myself seem longer .

What keeps me going is Christ .

I get to talk to him .

I have work to do .

On my good days 

I get to talk to the people here

About Jesus .

Oh the bad days 

I can pray .

The time we are here on earth 

Matters to God .

Every breath I take is an opportunity 

To serve and glorify God .

A christen like me can hold on

To the promise of permanent joy 

In the company of God .

In my live God fills all my moments

With significance .

I learn all this over time 

Because I am getting older these days  .

My Hiding Place

When I struggle with problems

And I do not know what to do 

And have no one to talk to ,

I seek a quiet place so I can

Take all my concerns to God .

There I sit down and pray .

I talk with God about all that happened 

And ask for wisdom and guidance .

My heart is filled with fear and worry 

But in my quiet place ,

I feel calm as God's presence 

Fills my heart .

I know my Lord will never leave me alone .

In my quiet place I pray , read the bible .

After getting older and time goes by .

I know God is my hiding place .

Strings

When you are first married

You have given piano strings 

After being married 30 years 

The strings are like steel strings .

But there are God's strings 

And they are all one of a kind .

God is behind the scene 

Pulling the strings .

He will direct your steps .

He knows how to pull the strings .

You do not need 

To be stressed out .

He has stings on everything you do .

There are always strings on you .

There will always be twist and turns 

But God will pull you in the right direction .

God has a string on everyone 

You know and love .

We all are in God's hands .

Nothing will stop your purpose 

With God .

Thank God for the special strings 

Every day not just on Thanksgiving Day .

People

All people smile in the same language .

The only way on earth to multiply 

Happiness is for people to share it .

A man's mind is like a car 

If it gets to knocking around ,

He better have it overhauled 

Or change it .

One of the best things a man 

Can have up his sleeve is a funny bone .

Never miss an opportunity 

To make others happy ,

Even if you have to let them alone

To do it .

We must be willing to pay 

A price for freedom 

For no price that is ever asked  for

It is half the cost of doing without it .

Joy is not in things .

It is in us .

Happiness is a thing to be practiced 

Like a violin .

Remember , our joys are our wings 

that fly high .

Our sorrow are our pheasant spurs .

Happiness is the only thing we can give 

Without having .

The Touch

Have you ever felt like

Your living outside 

Your community  ?

You may have many infectious 

Diseases .

If someone touches you on a bad day 

And the tears stream 

Down your face ,

They are tears of Joy . 

The person who touches you has compassion 

And reminds you that you are accepted .

That gentle touch does convey dignity and value .

The simple healing power

Of a human touch goes a long way

To remind a hurting person of their care and concern for you .

Remember , in failing strength 

You can continually draw from God 's ever present 

And unlimited supply to keep your live spiritually refreshed

The Price For Life

I thank we should honor those

Who have served

In the armed forces to defend 

Our nation and the freedoms 

We hold so dear .

Sometimes thank you seems

Inadequate to properly convey

The deep appreciation 

We have for their service .

Sometimes when we abuse our right , 

Take them for granted 

Or attempt to rob others of them 

We do a dishonor to our veterans .

When we show disrespect to people ,

We contradict what the brave solders 

Have fought to protect 

And we even dishonor the Lord 

Who gave life to all .

What A Day

I started today running 

To just get away .

I also prayed as I went along .

I did not pray for my needs .

I pray for a fresh start 

And new memories .

I am thankful for my family 

And thank God for a safe neighborhood .

I thank God for meeting my needs so far .

I thank God for hope .

I never run out of blessings 

For I am thankful 

For what began as a day of discouragement 

Became a joyful day 

Simply because I obey

God's command by giving thanks in every 

Situation that comes to me today .
