Even though we may 

Have locked our hearts with fear and sin ,

That some mercy and inner peace 

Have already been given to us by Jesus 

If only we would understand it ,

Trust in that forgiveness

The truth of our transformation 

Into Jesus ,

And our becoming one

With the Divine ,

Is the greatest of gifts .

All are more possible

As I once ran ,

I marveled at the beauty ,

The newfound life

In my soul .

As I reconnected 

With nature and appreciated

The life off the grid .

He Gives Me Peace

Music can give us the ability 

To express our feelings 

When words are hard to come by ,

But whether that the expression is sung ,]

Prayed or silently cried .

My God reaches into the deepest 

Places in my heart 

And gives me His peace.

Keep Hope Close

I need to keep hope close to my heart ,

When I do not see clearly 

And I have questions about my future

I can trust that I too will find my way 

In do time 

When I open myself to the Spirit's presence 

And guidance .

Make Time

Let us make time to enjoy 

And appreciate the wonder 

Of creation by watching 

A sunset , looking at the stars ,

Even listening to the rain ,

Touching the bark of an old tree ,

Savoring an orange ,

Oh yes holding a baby .

All you have to do is make time .

Even to just dream today 

So that is what I will do all day 

With my time 

And to be lifted up today maybe 

With my time 

and with my dreams .

Nothingness

Are we willing to experience 

Our nothingness

In the face of God ?

We will either run 

From it in terror 

Or we will of necessity ,

Abandon our emptied selves 

In complete trust .
