A New Life

I Am doing new things .
God is working in places 
That may seem dry and dead .
You may look at me 
And  not immediately see 
Any signs of a new life ,
But when someone takes
A closer look
You might find some surprises.
You know God's creative power 
Will never disappoint .

Never Forget Home

Take the time to softly touch the grass ,
Watch the clouds move fast .
On hot days feel the sun  ,
Feel the wind go through your ears .
Say hi to those who you pass 
On a Saturday on the sidewalk 
As you pass the stores on main street .
When you are home ,
You sleep well 
Because you feel safe at night .
At home everyone is someone .
When we are home ,
We can really talk as one .
At home we all know .
It is hard to hate 
When we stand up close
To one another .
At home we work 
But we talk more 
About friends and family .
We all play and have fun as brothers .
Home is where we care .
Home is comfort and and support 
And appreciate what we truly have 
in our home town and our home 
And all the people 
That makes  our home town .
It is easy to love
When we are home .
It is always good to come back home .

Go To Prayer

At my age these days 
I still face challenges ,
My first step is to go to God 
And pray .
The Father created me 
And knows me better 
Than I know myself .
God will not only provide 
The guidance I need 
But will give me peace .

Unfair

I choose to be thankful for God's unfailing 
Love and for people in my life 
Who really truly care about me .
Life can be unfair  ,
But when I recognize
That God's love for me is real 
And never ending ,
My life has changed 
In unimaginable ways .

To Complain

As  a child I believed in Jesus .
But as I get older some things
Happened and I complained to God ,
I wished I had been treated differently .
I am getting much older .
I am now living my faith  .
I am now grateful for God .

When I Pray

When I do pray I thank God 
For putting my friend in my life 
At my age .
I feel at peace when we watch TV
And yes my heart is at peace .
God gave me understanding 
And a special acceptance 
When I am with my friend .
I trust God and I know God 
Is always with us .

Those Days

I have had those days 
When I felt like a circus act 
And I did not smile .
I have had those days 
When I use my voice for kindness ,
My ears for compassion  ,
My hands for charity  ,
My heart for truth 
And my heart for love .
Today is a beautiful day
So I will bask in its glory .
I am fortunate to be here 
So I will smile and make it count  .
I will not alow circumstances
To rob me of this moment .
Today I will live , smile , laugh, love
And just breathe .
