Your Hug

I want and need your hug 
Because my spirit is saging . 
Your hug is like a giant air bag to me .
I want to sink 
Into your hug .
I want to feel your heart 
And hear it next to mine .
I am so far away
From you today .
My tears are dripping down so slowly .
I am shedding so many tears 
Without your hug today .

Me

I do not own a home no more .
I have lived a long life .
I read from the Bible 
And I still seek to grow spiritually .
At my age I try to give back 
like my brothers told me 
I should help others 
Who are suffering .
I believe my life can be 
An example of God's loving 
Grace and yes redemptive powers .

He Is Always

God is always with us 
What a joy it is to experience 
God's peace in all the trials we face .
We need not fear the construction 
Zone of life 
Because they are opportunities 
For our faith 
To grow firm in the One who created us .

Music

Faith without word and music is dead .
We need to make music with 
The Lord in our hearts
And to give thanks to God for everything .
When we do practice 
Gratitude and center our hearts 
On thankfulness ,
Yes we not only honor God 
But we are made joyful and peaceful and loving .

My Church

On Saturday night  I went to church .
The church was not full .
While waiting for the service 
To start ,
I looked up at the arches 
Above and though of all
Of my generations 
That had worshiped the Lord
In this church .
There is an unbroken chain of people 
Seeking the Lord for guidance ,
Support and comfort .
I know God is the same everywhere 
I think about my family and friends 
Who have gone before me 
And sat in this church .
Thank you Lord for taking 
My family and friends to heaven .
I love you Lord .

What a Comfort

When I think of God  ,
I think of the comfort 
And how God still heals ,
Still restores ,
Still gives you and me
What is best for us

At my age these days 
I have truly realized
That this is my life 
Which I was given by God .
I should do things 
That make me happy 
And stop trying to do things 
That do not make me happy
Just to please other people .
