The Past

You should not dwell on the past 
It does not do any good at all .
It is like keeping unneeded cloths .
They will not hurt us .
While cleaning the closet 
Made me wonder ,
Had I been holding on to memories and habits 
That keep me from fully pursuing 
The new people and things 
God has planned for me ?
I pray that God will help me embrace 
The future God has in store for me 
Not the past .

Always

I always have a desire to want to .
You are always as warm
As the bottom side of your pillow .
When you dream ,
Yes you will always have dreams 
Of coming home .
You will always have ups and downs .
Always pray .
God always knows your needs .
There will always be a new day .
Even when we get old 
We should always have a desire to want to 
Do more things 
Like bending our knees ,
Even when they hurt anyway .

Some day you will be my age .
I just got a jump on you that is all .
Some day you will feel the air 
That I breath today .
You can live with failure 
But not with regret .
You can not take on every fight  ,
Life like time always keeps changing .
Some day you will lose me 
But we will always be together .
I pray you will never
Go through what I have gone through .
Hope is always with us forever .
I hope you smile once a day 
Because I sure try my best .

I can reach out to God 
Whose guidance , understanding 
And protection 
Are always there for me .
God wants to walk me always .
Like my grandson 
When he was young 
He would take my hand 
For he trusted me,
Knowing I loved him  .
At my age today I can hold on
To God , I will trust God's steadfast love 
To keep me from falling .

Little Memories

Always pray and never get weary 
Praying or even feel wary .
We need to pray to the Lord 
Who made the beauty 
Of the heaven and earth .
There will always be 
Things that will chip away we 
At our prayers .
We may not have time to pray some days .
There will always be idleness 
That will wear us down 
And chip away and chip away 
As we try to pray little by little .
The Lord hears our prayers
And he touches our lives .
Walk with the lord 
And do not get weary .
Oh the little things that will always 
Be in our memories 
Like the beauty of the warmth of the sunshine ,
The fall colors , the slow rain that comes down 
And the little snowflakes that come down in winter
And the memories of being with friends 
And sharing their smile .
He has the strength to answer our prayers
So let us never stop praying .
