Be Humble

You should practice humility 

Before God .

I once adapted a daily pattern 

Of kneeling in prayer 

To show reverence to God .

Now at my age when I kneel 

My knees have pain ,

But I still come before the Lord 

In humility ,

Because seeing beyond my physical 

Posture to my heart .

Whether I sit , stand or kneel 

I can focus my worshiping 

Heart on God .

God desires humility from all of us 

But humility does not always

come naturally .

Oh always try to be humble .

What Is Your Job

Whatever you do,

Work at it with all your heart .

Any job you have to do 

Gives you an opportunity 

To reflect His presence in your life .

No task is to small or to big .

You need to tackle your responsibilities 

Whatever they may be with joy .

Creativity and excellence 

Gives you an opportunity to influence 

Those around you no matter your job .

To Comfort

When I try to comfort someone ,

I should have one goal 

In mind that is restoration 

Not embarrassment .

My time with God has transformed me .

Jesus helps me not to miss opportunities

And to encourage my brothers and sisters .

Remember , one thing we all have given 

Christ countless reasons over time not to love us 

None of them changed his mind .

Remember , God will be with us 

When we come to our destiny .

God will comfort us all for he loves us always .

Help From Heaven

SOS is the Morse code signal .

It is an urgent cry for help .

If you are in the midst 

Of a challenging situation 

You can send an SOS to God .

God will help you the best way .

He will respond to your call 

For help and he will fight for you .

A Sunrise

As I look out my window 

To see the house across the (alley ) street

Backlit by the amazing sunrise .

The sky was a deep orange with a soft peach .

A dense pink cloud was streaked with a vivid yellow ,

And the blue of the sky 

Appeared through the gaps in the cloud .

The magnificent scene inspired gratitude 

And a sense of awe and wonder in me .

It drew my focus to my Creator 

And to Christ the light of the world 

Who shines love on me every day 

As the colors of the sunrise begin to fade ,

I can face each day with gladness 

And hope and with joyful knowledge 

That I have a faithful God 

Whose mercies are fresh every morning .

Be Faithful

The church is a place of mercy 

Freely given where everyone 

Can feel love , forgiveness 

And encouraged to live the life 

Of the gospel as spoken in church .

In a world torn by strife 

God's people may shine forth 

As a prophetic sign of unity ,

Refugees and those exiled 

From their home land 

That they may receive a special 

Loving welcome 

For those burdened by poverty ,

Hardship , oppression and persecution .

God will rescue and lift them up .

May we all rely on the grace of God 

In all our moments of weakness .
