The Trash

It can become easy to become 

Accustomed to our wrongdoing .

When our sins and wrongdoing

Make us uncomfortable ,

We become disgusted .

However doing nothing 

About them seems to lessen 

Its impact on our conscience .
In the end we become accustomed 

To living with them 

Or spend the rest of our lives 

Complaining about them .

We become convinced that we 

Can not confront them .

The assessment we are told 

Is that it is the time 

To take out the trash 

And clutter from our hearts 

And to seek refuge in Christ ,

Who can redeem us 

From our sins and wrongdoing 

And refresh our spirits .

Sometimes

Sometimes even the strongest 

Among us experience weakness .

In those times we call upon 

God for strength ,

But when we feel  so overwhelmed 

By a crisis that we do not even know 

How to pray ,

God who knows the cries 

Of our heart and knows 

what we need before we ask 

Will send comfort , healing 

And life to us .

God Is Wisdom

Bless He wakes and woe He lightens .

God is wisdom God is love .

The wisdom that comes 

From heaven is first all pure ,

Than peace , love , considerate ,

Submissive , full of mercy 

And good fruit , impartial and sincere ,

Wisdom will multiply your days 

And add years to your life .

Wisdom will protect you 

Just like money , knowledge 

With good sense will lead you .

We all experience circumstances

That leave us reeling ,

Wondering which way to turn 

And if we will survive .

Tough times are often beyond 

Our control ,

But we can still choose 

How we react to the event .

Remember , to praise God

Forgiving , compassionate

And abounding in love .

Even when we do not understand 

How any good can possibly 

Come from our present circumstances ,

To Cry Out

When I cry out and give God 

All of my worries ,

My prayers take on a powerful 

Far beyond my own by faith and prayer ,

I can experience freedom 

From worry and receive 

God's transcendent peace 

In my mind and heart .

Instead of constantly living in fear

Of what could go wrong ,

I know I can rest in prayer ,

Knowing that God hears my prayers 

And blesses me with peace .

To Be Ordinary

I have always wanted to do 

Great things for God .

Oh to change the world and to

Live a life that matters .

I do not want to have regrets 

At the end of my life .

Maybe it is my age ,

Hopefully it is wisdom .

Oh I long for an ordinary life .

A simple phone call from a friend 

Showed me the importance of ordinary .

A friend will call to just encourage me .

They made a difference in my life .

They showed me that the ordinary

In Proverbs , we are told 

That as iron sharpens iron ,

Like one person sharpens another .

If we study together 

We grow as friends .
