Time Kills Me

The time that keeps killing me .
Oh to visit the same 
Wounds again and again .
The regrets sit heavenly in silence  .
With time comes asking questions 
That no answers can undo 
But still hope refuses  to die  .
Even with time and so much
Disappointment 
Even after so much loss ,
Even after every reason
To let go 
Time continues  to breath
Softly somewhere within me .
There is always some time 
That keeps killing me today .

I will have some good times .

Retirement

When you retire you do not need 
To sugar coat anything .
You may forget your home town  
But your home town will never 
Forget you  .
Sometimes it is truly 
Hard to just let go .
You can not always have a good day 
But when you are retired 
You can always face a bad day 
With a good attitude .
When your world feels heavy 
Remember even a small simple step 
Forward is progress .
Always remember a new day 
Is a gift 
Not because it promises more things 
But because it offers more time 
To cherish life .
Let your pastime 
Be your best time .
Now that I am retired 
I see people more clearly  .

Oh Gorgeous

She is to beautiful to feel lost
Or even ignored .
Every night she sits outside 
Just to think and to get away for a time .
But she is never alone .
I may go out and check on her 
In the morning or in the afternoon 
But I leave her alone at night .
She has her own special chair 
So I stand beside her 
And I may call her gorgeous 
Out of the blue .
But most of all I try
To get her to laugh and smile 
From head to toe 
And God understands 
That she and I know we are never alone 
Because of him .

Not Every Smile

I pretend I am okay.
Like the sky pretending 
Not to cry .
A real quiet smile is resting 
On my lips .
Oh that locked up feeling .
While the storm pass through
And I do not know what to do .
You took the real smile away
From me .
While the storm passed through my eyes 
And sits quietly in my chest 
Turning words into silence 
And silence into a truly heavy rest  .
I say I am fine 
And I just let the stormy 
Moment pass by 
Because I know sometimes 
The truth is just to heavy 
So not even a smile tonight
Will tell the truth .

70 Plus

When you are 70 plus 
And you lose children 
At any age or people your age and beyond .
And you will never get them back not really .
You no longer try to understand 
Because time is not on your side  .
You will always show feelings .
When you are happy 
Give into it when you can .
You do not worry about the future 
Because your future is today .
You do not feel guilty 
About the past .
Your mistakes , well you learn from them .
At 70 plus you can still achieve things 
Most people would laugh at you for even trying .
At 70 plus you are not alone .
You do not stop loving 
Nor even stop believing or praying 
Or even stop dreaming your dreams 
But you might sat why did I wait 
So long to even enjoy my life today .

A strong person is not someone 
Who never cries .
A strong person is someone 
Who lets the tears fall for a moment  .
A strong person who gets little hugs 
Can dry big tears .
Their little candles 
Can light the darkness  .
A strong person will always

They know it is the little things 
In their life that brings
