In The Silence

As a child I expected God's voice 

To come booming from parted clouds .

But it never happened .

I assumed God did not care about me .

Now that I am getting older

And so many things can go wrong .

I sometimes can not stop crying .

I go for a run .
Wishing to be alone .

I can just let the tears flow .

I know God is near .

In the silence , God comforts me

Through the warmth of the sun .

In the silence God renews me

With the coolness of the wind ,

And in the silence ,

I sense God saying ,

You are not alone and I love you .

In the silence , God's voice becomes clear .

Remember , in our struggles , frustrations  ,

Dreams and all that is in our hearts .

In the silence God does speak just listen .

The Throne

Keep God on the throne .

Keep your worries off your throne 

Or your worries will go on and on .

Don't put your pains on the throne .

Don't put your feeling of being choked 

By anxiety ever on the throne .

God works where there is an attitude of faith .

Think of the greatness of God 

When he is on the throne .

Don't put everything on your throne .

Don't hold onto everything that hurts you .

Your latter days will be greater 

Than your early days .

By keeping God on your throne 

He will rain beauty down into your eyes .

God you rain over my pain

And troubles and I believe 

And trust you 

For you are on the throne .

Remember , don't lose connection 

With who is on the throne .

The Waves

May my pains and my lose

Come and go in waves 

Not all at once .

My changes keep my soul awake 

And my senses alive .

When I feel heavy ,

I will sing a song 

And I know 

By riding the wave 

I can go on .

No matter what you say

I gave you life 

But can not live it for you .

I can teach you about kindness 

But I can not force you to be gracious .

I can teach you right from wrong 

But I can not always decide for you .

I can pray for you 

But I can not make you walk with God .

I can teach you to share 

But I can not make you unselfish .

I can teach you respect 

But I can not force you to show honor .

I can love you as my child 

But I can not place you in God's family .

Remember , what God said 

Whoever receives one child

Such as this one in my name 

Receives me and whoever receives me 

Receives not me 

But the one who sent me .

My Ministry

I can not truly sing 

Nor play music in a church .

I have been an usher in my time .

I can not interpret 

The sermon for others .

My ministry is not merely serving 

Inside the church  .

God has many ways for me to serve 

One way is to care for orphans ,

The elderly , the widow or someone in need .

I can be a good listener .

When we serve God with all our heart ,

We will shine like the stars in the sky .

Finally we will hear the king 

Say to us well done , good and faithful 

Servant have a good day 

And at night sit quietly 

And look up at the stars that are bright .

Some stars may fall

Like autumn leaves

And do not forget to pray 

And also have a good night sleep .

He Guides Me

He guides the steps I take 

And make safe the path I take 

Because he loves me .

I may stumble but I shall never fall 

For he holds me by the hand .

I was young now I am getting old !

He is generous and lends

A blessing to all his children .

He will never forsake anyone .

Remember , the just man's mouth

Utters wisdom 

And his lips speak what is right with

The law of my God 

Is in my heart 

And I believe and trust him .

Where To Find Hope

I read a note with these words 

Much love .

Hope sent .

That is what Jesus gives .

He brings us His love 

With each new day 

And strengthens us 

With that hope .

His love is not rationed out to us 

Drop by drop 

But flows out of His heart freely 

And is poured lavishly into ours .

He desires to use the hard times 

To develop perseverance and character 

And brings us a satisfying hope filled life 

And even when we are far from him 

He still loves us .
