 Without your strength and guidance 

I an nothing .

I know I have many thoughts

And so much energy

And desires but at my age

They are all scattered like leaves !

Make me aware of your presence  .

Reassure me , who I am to become

Whenever I am down .

May your hands assure me

That I'm going in the right direction .

Protect me from my feelings of alienation  .

Push away my evil thoughts and ways .

Ease my aching heart ,

Teach me , hold me , and love me .

Take the burdens of each day

And hold them for me .

Where everyone knows every one  .

In a small town friendships never end .

You can live on love and laughter here .

You get a feeling it is going to be

A beautiful day in your small home town  every day .

You can always go there and get cheered up

For a while in your small home town  to .

To dream there do come true .

In your small home town

You will have learned more good things

And remember them when you are

Back in your home town .

You truly can  except more and understand

more things back home .

My Family Reunion

We only have one family !

I miss sometimes where I am from .

It has been a while

Since we all got together as a family

We can all talk the talk !

When we get together ,

We just pick up where we  left off

The last time we saw each other .

We love one and all .

We all have caring hearts .

We all talk about our fantasies !

We all sit under the stars

And I can even hide myself

Inside my family under the stars

The family will tell old family stories !

We all hang onto every word

So we can remember them .

The family will always tell us

The right way

Even when we don't understand.

For us who stayed up all night

A Winter Shadow

When I ran this morning  ,

My shadow was as dark

As ever ,

But it was as long as I

Have ever seen it .

The pole on the other side

Of the road covered the shadow

For just a second ,

But when the shadow

Hit the snow again 

It was even longer

Than the pole

And oh so much bigger than I

I sure could see my shadow .

In the winter snow

As I ran down the road

For when I run

I'm never alone .

A Reunion For Cousins

Some cousins worked at the Dari O .

once I asked a cousin for a dime nickle  cone !

A cousin  worked at the Root Beer Stand .

She did not row around or fool around

Because she did not have any rower skates on !

Some worked for the county .

One worked for the sheriff and one Sunday

He put all his cousins in town in jail  for a short time !

Does anyone remember ?

Some would work for their uncle .

Some would work at the city pool

As life guards .

One time I had to get a cousin to open the pool

Late at night

So I could help a friend get his ring  out of the clear water !

Some cousins got to travel the world

With their mom and dad .

I would from time to time

Find a date for a cousin or two  .

Some cousins ended up as altar boys not servers !

We all ended up in church every Sunday

Because of our parents

That made us all cousins like it or not !

Cousins are family

If you have one or too many to count

Remember we all have feels .
