A Blessing

How have you been blessed by another ?

How might you bless someone today ?

It is only out of the grace of God 

That we know what it means

When We Walk

As we walk through life ,

We often miss blessings 

Hidden in calamities .

But while tears can blur our vision ,

They can also clarify 

Our sight to reveal new truths .

Perhaps we can see our way 

To reach out to someone in pain .

I believe that when we have walked

through pain and grief ,

We may be the only ones able to see

Clearly another person walking 

The same path 

And there our tears can meet .

Truly , tears can be God's blessing 

For our life .

The Same Page

We are on the same page when we believe 
In the salvation that Jesus 

Won for us by his death 

On the cross and victory over the grave .

We are on the same page 

When we respond to His gift 

Of salvation by living our lives to His glory .

How great it is to be on the same page 

With the One who writes our names 

In the book of life .

We receive our miracle healing 

As we put our faith in the One 

Who gave up His life to give us 

An eternally perfect life with Him .

Out of our daily routine

Little Value

Sometimes when you just stand up 

And look well and stand still ,

Often the world sees you 

As having little value ,

But God sees things differently .

Lord is mindful of all of us 

Even if we are banged up 

With sins and its consequences 

It can also leave us scarred .

Fortunately God knows our value .

Become discouraged

Being called by God

Sometimes like a child I wonder 

What is taking so long .

When I knock at God's door in prayer 

And I do not wait around 

Long enough to hear an answer 

I ask does God open the door 

To find that I have vanished ?

The miracle of grace

For our knocking and always responds

In love by being there for you and me .

God has given me talents

We can rejoice that God 

Is a treasure hunter .

He enjoys making diamonds 

From the rough .

He willingly sacrificed 

His only Son 

In order to bring us home 
As His treasured possessions .

He promised us an inheritance

Oh yea , get old or be taken from us again .

We Can Not Choose

We can not choose how God works ,

We have the assurance that our hope ,

Will not put us to shame .

God's love has been poured into our hearts 

Through the Holy Spirit .

This is a gift He has given to remind us

Along in sadness .

When we have faith , He will act

Lent is not just for letting go of things .

I think we should read 

More about Christ during Lent ,

God's Light

The sunlight is a symbol of the light 

That God gives to us .

Oh how vital and powerful 

Both are for our lives ,

Just as the brightness of daylight 

For it outshines the light 

That comes from the church 

Window at night .

God's light is infinitely more powerful 

Than what we humans can produce .

Yes , this humbling comparison 

Can encourage us to continue 

With our outreach efforts 

So that God's light can shine through us ,

Showing the loving messages of God

Silence

Silence requires discipline ,

Sacrifice and perseverance ,

It does not just happen 

We have to create space 

In our lives and in our hearts .

Always give yourself a little bit 

Of time to just quietly take a shower ,

Take in the benefits of the warm water 

And being quiet .

We need to take the time to give God 

A chance to look at us 

And for us to recognize Him .

Silence is not an end in itself 

It is during the time of silence 

That I experience the deepest 

Spiritual consolation ,

I can truly sink into his presence 

And feel his pursuit of my heart 

And also know his nearness ,

Experience his great love for me 

And his tender care and mercy 

And rest in the peace that only 

He can bring into my life .

God's Opinion

Sometimes I wonder how I am going 

To get everything done .

Sometimes it occurs to me 

How my life seems to revolve 

To much around the opinions of others .

The need for approval 

From people who I work with , friends 

And family members .

It seems to occupy some of my thoughts ,

Which left me little room to hear from God .

I sometimes permit the words of people 

To drown out God's word .

But God does not want us bound 

By the opinions and criticism 

Of those around us .

I need to remember , as a child of God ,

I should always seek God's approval 

And God's thoughts .

I get to choose weather I walk

Through my life with a smile and joy it 

Or with reluctance and bitterness .

Most of the time I will call

Someone smiley and choose joy ,

But sometimes I still

Become discouraged

And satisfaction that I will follow

I have noticed that the more 

I do at the expense of my time 

In communion with God ,

The more likely I am to be stressed 

Or overwhelmed .

However when I take time to pause 

And rest 

In my relationship with God ,

My renewed Spirit helps me

When I am always 

On the move .

I am continuing to learn

That I can not run on empty

First , God's love is constant .

Second , God's protection is certain .

God is our true shelter and refuge .

No matter my storm .

God will protect us .

He is always on my side .

Third , we can count on provision 

We do not have to worry 

Because our Father knows 

Our needs and provides for us .

God's physical and spiritual 

Provisions has always been there 

With all our changing circumstances 

We know we can hold on these promises 

From our unchanging God .

Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response 

With misfortune or danger 

When we hold on to our anxiety 

And allow it to overwhelm us ,

Fear and worry will keep us from being 

Able to think calm and trust in Him always ,

Because remember He was on the cross

And we were on his mind already 

And He died for us .

Remember ,He is with us all the time

Thank Him

Today we have God's Spirit living in us ,

Allowing us to meet with God 

Throughout the day every day .

God is our source of forgiveness ,

Love , encouragement , teaching and direction .

I hope to continue growing

Even at my age of 68 .

I thank Him
