Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving day helps us to find

The blessings that are locked

Up in the things we complain about

And to regularly express our gratitude

To all of you .

Today we choose the attitude of gratitude .

We try to show the liberating joy of being thankful .

We each have one voice and one heart

So use them wisely today.

Remember Thanksgiving takes

The sting out of adversity

The past  or the present

We should forget 

What is behind us

And we should strain

The Tongue

We all need to tame our tongues .

A child will us his tongue to say

Why ,why , why a magical why !

The vary old will say everything 

That is on their mind 

And let their tongues run freely .

The old never ask why

Because they know it all 

Just ask them !

When you are between

The vary young

And the vary old ,

We need to feed 

Our spirit and to use our tongue

To build people up not down .

Don't curse anyone .

Stay a wake watch out and pray

For the strength to hold your ground

And your tongue ,

If you can not say anything good about someone

Zip your mouth .

Are You Rich

You win an enormous amount of money .

Striking it rich evokes a great emotional response .

Obeying God's instructions for living

Can be just as exhilarating 

As receiving a fortune .

It all starts with gratitude

Which is both an attitude 

And a choice .

I pay attention to what I value .

Jesus opens my eyes

To see the storehouse of wisdom

Knowledge and peace

That He gives me in His word .

As my love for Jesus grows each day ,

I indeed strike it rich .

Between Us

It is OK to go gently through

This day and lean on me .

It is OK to wear your emotion

On your sleeve .

It is OK to relax in my arms .

On this day with your extreme sadness

This is also a day of extreme precious memories 

That are richly interwoven 

With the golden strands of love between us .

And hope to make it through the day .

The Cross

Have you ever truly looked

At the cross in church ?

I heard this some time ago .

I was told the cross is of 2 parts .

The part of the cross that is 

Up and down or north and south is God  

And the part of the cross

That is laying down or facing 

East and west is God's people .

Where the 2 parts come together,

Lets us know that God is always protecting us all .

The Supermarket

I stand at the end of the cashier's line .

I look around .

I see a teenager with a shaved head

And nose rings looking through the snack foods ,

A young professional buying one steak ,

A few twigs of asparagus 

And a can of sweet potatoes 

And an old elderly woman pondering 

Just peaches and strawberries

Because she can afford them .

I know God knows all their names .

They are all worthy of his individual attention and love .

I know these people to .

I am just one person 

But I do try to help them all 

The best I can 

For they all may help me some day .

With love in their heart

Just like little old me and God .

Keep An Open Mind

I try to keep an open mind ,

I know our minds are so prone to distractions .

I know something about it .

It takes courage to have an open mind .

Nothing cost as much as caring 

Except not caring .

I try to notice the needs

Of those around me 

And to do what I can to meet their needs .

I try to be a shield and protect them

If only with a smile 

Even if they are different than me 

Because I want to keep 

An open mind .

Even when they laugh at me .

I will still keep trying

Even when I am crying inside .

Give please a chance 

Every day and night .

I want to give light not heat .

I can leave things 

If I chose to  .

I am only lonely 

When you look at me  

The way you do sometimes  .

Your life can leave a  mark on me .

I was told when  I can not stand up

I need to stand out .

When I am down to get up .

We all have somethings in common 

Hope and eyes to look ahead 

And one faith and one Lord 

To give us light  .

Let us all give please a chance 

So say please and thank you

And mean it .

I will take care of you 

The best way I know how .

I am not limited by time or space .

My promise is a forever promise .

I don't want you to worry about your future .

Take your future now moment to moment 

And have . fun and don't worry about tomorrow  .

Live today , see all there is

And do all there is to do right now .

Yes , today right now !

Don't  do anything about tomorrow 

Or have any regrets .

Use your energy on today 

Not on what can or may not happen tomorrow

I don't like the unknown

I always like to know where I am going .

I know in the unknown 

Is where my drea ms begin .

I need to stretch out to God 

And trust and believe in him .

I know God will stand with me ,

I  know God will give me wisdom

The best way to know God's will

Is to say I will to God .

Help me to put you first 

So that I can find my home in you .

Help me Lord to represent your will

So that others might be drown to your love .

What we think of God 

Shows in how we relate with him ,

I acknowledge your gentle power .

The best way to trust , to love 

And to know God over all 

Is to pray to him

Will I be happy grandpa ?

Will I be sad grandpa ?

My Task Today

I try to learn

What ever my limitations are

What ever they may be 

Are a gift from God.

With these gifts 

I am to serve him .

The limitations may be

Emotional , physical or intellectual  .

In my weakness

God's power was revealed to me .

Seeing my liabilities this way

Enables me to go about my business 

With confidence and with courage .

I will not complain . feel sorry for my self .

I will make myself available 

To God for his intended purposes .

With contentment it will enables me

To grow where God has planted me .
