I Persevered

I have persevered and my goal 

Became a reality .

My corner stone of faith 

Was lead by my mom and dad 

And aunts and uncles 

And my grandma .

Yes the strong people in my life 

Who always followed the teaching 

To start their children off on the way

God’s Children

God loves us all and wants us

To love one another.

He wants us to build up one another 

So that the body of Christ 

Can function smoothly and accomplish 

Great things together .

God says the key to this is to grow 

Up in our faith. .

We must study God’s word 

And learn to put it into practice

In our dealings with others .

As each part matters  to Christ .

Soften Your Heart

Jesus comes out with strong words 

Cautioning us in our dealings  with others .

Jesus makes it clear that not everyone 

Is ready to receive the Good News .

This does not mean we give up on those 

Who do not immediately repent and believe ,

We have the Golden Rule 

By which we may win others over 

By our compassion .

If we treat others 

As we wish to be treated  

We pave the way 

To soften hearts and open minds .

I Lost

People tell me I am strong 

Enough to handle my challenges ,

Wise enough to find a solution 

To my problems 

And I am capable enough 

To to what needs to be done .

Some people just makes me 

Feel better 

When they are around .

Even when I call them Smiley !

And medicine for my mine .

After I lost her

She Is With God

Life has not been easy .

I have battled through many storms

Through the gift of faith ,

I miss the sound of your voice .

I do not do good things to be seen

Oh The Test

The diagnosis of our sin sick 

Condition was terminal .

There was nothing in us ,

Nothing we could do 

That would save us from eternal death .

God in His great mercy .

Respond with a treatment plan .

He sent us the best physician .

Jesus took our sin upon Himself 

And overcome it completely ,

Securing for our eternal live with Him.

So let us listen to and pray for our love ones .

God appears to us through others

As his ambassadors we become God”a

Face to those distanced from him .

So why not improve those foreign

Question God’s Love

Obedience does not always 

Get us what we want  .

Why would we ever try 

To obediently serve God ?

Maybe the problem arises 

When we serve for love 

Rather than with love .

You see ,

God can not love us 

Any more than he already does .

There is no need to question God’s love 

When things do not go the way 

We expect  .

Remember , we are not obedient 

So we can receive God’s love .

We are obedient to show our love 

For the One who already serves us 

And is already working everything 

For our good .

Eternal Life

Being a mature Christian ,

Jesus brings a deeper truth .

Eternal life is a place of knowing ,

A movement toward a more 

Intimate awareness

Of an ever present triune God .

It is about encountering Jesus 

Now in our own lives of prayer 

And Sacraments and service 

So we can continue to live 

In that known presence 

When our lives on earth  are complete .

We do not need to wait for eternal life .

We live into it .

Mary Lou

You will always be in my heart .

You always wanted to wash my hair .

During lent we would pray

But you could not wait until

You could have ice cream.

You always had a goody lox moment .

I wish I could have just 1 more closer

Walk with you aunt Mary Lou .

We would always sing songs together .

I would even wear a white sport coat 

And I would wear a green carnation 

If I could just have 1 more dance with you .

I wish we could just 1 more time go play 

Bingo 

And have grandma tell us we had to go !

Oh for the good times we shared .

Now aunt Mary Lou  you would tell me 

You are fine for the shape you are in 

And all the pain has gone away .

Ambassador

Even as an elder if we are not well formed 

In our faith ,

We can be misled by the wisdom 

Of this ——— world.

Many worldly practices

Sound good promising us mental ,

Spiritual and physical benefits 

But some go against the revealed truths 

Of the Church and can head us astray .

Children tend to keep 

Their focus on the one whose yoke is easy

And whose burden is light .

May we all be unafraid 

To believe more like little ones .

Dear friends , there are times

Of mourning in this sad world .

I Serve

I serve God that has a plan 

And purpose for me. 

I serve a God that is greater than my trouble.

I know faith makes all things possible  .

I know hope makes all things work   .

I know love makes all things beautiful .

I know I am human and it is ok

I just do not live there to long .

I may cry it out  

And then refocus on where I am going .

God is very good now and always .

You probably do not think

What you are doing

A Disaster

There is a disaster in Maui Hawaii 

So many died and it  will 

Take a long time to find people 

A live and more dead.

Not everyone we be  accounted for .

The TV stations are treating it  all

As a baseball game score .

They say there  has been 70 deaths .

The next day they say 99 ,

Then the next day it is 101 

Then the next it is 103.

Don’t they know life is not

A baseball score .

The numbers are people 

Their family may not see again 

So stop playing with people’s life 

When people can not find 

Their loved ones .

To their loved ones it is a disaster  

Not a game of keeping score .
