God's Blessings

When God's blessings seem distant ,

The promise of God 

Is like the promise of spring will be fulfilled .

When we remember these promises 

While waiting on God ,

They can become more evident .

We can give thanks to God 

And remember Jesus' promises 

To the man next to Him

As they were both dying .

Remember paradise is coming .

We now rejoice in God's gift 

Through Christ 

Who cheers us on and gives us life 

By touching our hearts

With His saving power

Of His Word .

He redeems and forgives us 

Setting us free

We do not need to be marathon runners 

Or the Apostle Paul 

To finish this life well .

By keeping our eyes on Jesus ,

We can all hear Him say well done

It Has Much To Say

The Bible like my dad has much to say 

When suffering and how we should respond to it .

By no measure  have I suffered much  ,

But I have always understood that suffering brings us 

Closer to God ,

Who gives us strength to endure it .

Before this time I had not quite 

Understood the concept of counting our trials as joy .

Even in minor challenges God helps increase our understanding ,

And so berry picking 

Becomes an unlikely lesson .

Scratches are not the same as persecution or death .

They are reminders ,

In the future I may face sever trials ,

But however they may sting  ,

I can endure them with joy 

For the sake of the good qualities 

I know that God will produce for me .

Annoy

Jesus taught us to love 

One another ,

Including those who annoy ,

Aggravate and disagree 

With us .

Many problems of our world 

Can be saved if we find ways 

To love our neighbors as ourselves .

Behind Bars

There are countless 

People behind bars ,

Both literally and figuratively 

Who need the listening ear 

And tender hearts of Christians ,

As we should remember ,

To love those in jail ,

God will set their souls free .

Struggle

I have learned that even when 

I struggle , God gives love ,

Relief and opportunities 

Throughout life ,

I have had much 

And I have had little ,

But the amount of grace 

And comfort that God provides 

For me has never changed .

Humble

I learned that humiliation

Can be a good thing 

If it leads to humility ,

It is the key that opens 

God's heart .

God opposes the proud 

But shows favor 

In the humble .

He showers the humble with grace .

God Himself said ,

These are the ones 

I look on with favor ,

Those who are humble 

And contrite in spirit 

And who tremble at my world .

As we humble ourselves before God ,

He lifts us up .

Remember , humiliation and shame 

Can bring us to God 

For His shaping 

When we fall ,

We have fallen into his hands .

Jesus Is With Us

When you start each day 

With Jesus is with us ,

It is a reminder that 

Whoever becomes frustrated 

By their disability

And gets upset with their routine 

And is disrupted by people 

But when you mention Jesus 

Or the Holy Spirit 

To them it does calm them down 

When they hear a song 

About Jesus they will sing 

At the top of their lungs 

And feel happy ,

Because Jesus is with all of us ,

Our Weakness

 Jesus knows our weaknesses .

He died on the cross for them .

He restores us 

And renews us in our Baptism

And may ways 

And strengths us 

Through His Word and Sacraments .

When God calls us ,

We often do the bare minimum

And then blame God 

When things do not work out 

But God ask us 

To give all of ourselves to or work .

No matter what we do for God  , 

We can give it our all

Weight To Carry

I wonder how many people 

Would see me struggling 

And not understand why

I was dragging .

With my feet in the morning 

I thought that I could hide

My struggles ,

But they would eventually tire me .

I have many weights to carry 

Like family , identity and many responsibilities 

And I need to carry it all in my body .

It may not show at first 

As I go through my day by day 

But eventually I will grow weary .
I know I can run with perseverance .

As I lay aside every weight and look to Jesus .

I can rely on him to help me face 

Every challenge before me .

I do not have to do it alone .

Praying , applying scripture

To my situations and praising God 

Before I see results

They make space for God

And new beginnings in Christ .

God fulfills each beautiful 

Promise to God's children

Many changes can cause us 

To appear different to one another

If we form opinions about one another

We may miss opportunities to perceive

Like the kind that is of great worth in God's s eyes .

Oh how blessed we are that God 

Looks upon our hearts .

When we seek to value what is 

In the hearts of others ,
