Twinkle twinkle little star 

The stars hang up above the world so high .

The stars act as a guide .

As the bright and tiny spark

My dad is my hero .

He told me be careful where you walk .

Big Love

I was ready for bed 

When my 4 year old came bouncing in .

He returned from a day outside without me .

He jumped in my lap

And we exchanged hugs .

Then he was still and he snuggled

In my arms .

I held him thinking how much I love him .

His mother said:

He is filthy .

Why are you letting him sit in your lap ?

Can you not smell him .

I had to admit the scent of dirt ,

Puppies and even food

And just hard play 

Radiated from his body .

It did not matter to me .

He did not have to be perfect .

Nothing he could do would make 

My love for him any more or any less .

I have unconditional love 

Like the unconditional love

My heavenly Father has for me 

Like my grandma's love 

For me too.

Yes , I feel I have her love even today .

A child giggles with joy with the first snow flake 

With new snow he will get a type of curiosity

Quicksand

We struggle daily against the temptations 

Of the world that makes us doubts God's 

Love for us .

When fears creeks in ,

We may panic and turn to lesser things 

To try to escape the fear .

But none of those things can give us peace .

None can free us from the quicksand of sin 

We always find ourselves in .

We only sink deeper in a quagmire 

Of despair that seemingly has no escape .

God does not leave us there .

He provides a sure footing on solid ground .

Instead of casting our eyes to the world ,

We need to only focus on Jesus Christ to free us .

Terrible And Beautiful

Fear can leave you frozen .

We know all the reasons 

To be afraid .

We have some secret fears ,

Everything that has hurt us in the past ,

Everything that could easily do so again .

So sometimes we are struck unable 

To go back and to afraid to move forward .

You feel not so smart enough ,

Or brave enough to handle being hurt 

Like that again .

Remember , terrible things will happen 

In our world .

When I think about heaven ,

It is often about the magnificence

Of the place , the pearly gates 

And the streets of gold .

I try to imagine what it looks like 

Sometimes when I run .

Heaven will certainly be a glorious place

That my longing is not so much for a place ,

But for a person .

Heaven will be so wonderful

Keep Pedaling

I ride my bike .

It gives me drive 

To feel and do good things .

I ride my bike almost every  where .

To much glancing backward

Dwelling to long on past disappointment ,

Why am I so discouraged ?

When Weary

          

Sometimes trying to do the right thing

Can be exhausting .

I wonder , do my intentioned words 

And action make any difference at all ?

I recently sent a prayerfully email 

That was meant to encourage a friend 

Only to have it met with an angry response .

My immediate reaction was a mixture 

Of hurt and anger .

How could I be so misunderstood ?

Well I am different .

I know , I would not always see

The results I desire .

When I am discouraged 

By someone's response to my 

Sincere efforts 

I always try to consider my motives 

For what I say and do go 

And when they do not work out 

The way I thought it should go ,

I know I need to persevere

And to have courage 

And not to be weary 

And not to give up 

And always try to be good to all people .

A Basket Of Clothes

I hate doing clothes 

The little shirts , pants , dresses and socks .

The mounds of clothes just makes me miserable .

Then One day in my grumbling 

It just came to me .

What if instead of thinking of doing 

The clothes as a chore ,

But as a blessing from God .

What if I pray for each member 

Of my family ,

While I fold the clean clothes ?

The kids clothes remind me

That God's love surrounds and comforts each child .

Each shirt is a prayer for a loving heart 

Even the endless socks that seem to never match

Or even end ,

Become a prayer that the feet they cover 

Will walk in God's path .

When I was all done ,

My heart overflows with gratitude
