The Pattern

You should always give thanks 

For we all are fearfully wonderfully made .

Whether you are a poet or parent or grandparent 

Or DR. or teacher or artist or gardener ,

We must start where we are 

And use what we have .

In the process of creation and relationship ,

What seems mundane and trivial 

May show itself to be holy and precious 

Part of a pattern .

Hold on to the pattern of wholesome 

Teaching you from Christ 

A pattern shaped by the faith 

And love that you have in Christ Jesus .

Remember a smile and the beauty puts a face 

On God .

When we gaze at nature ,

At a loved one as a work of art 

Our soul immediately recognize 

And is drawn to the face of God .

Be Unique

 What I do is less than a drop

In the big ocean 

But if that drop is missing ,

The ocean would lack something .

I will just go ahead and be what I

Was made to be ,

Without enviously or pride fully

Comparing myself with others 

Or to be something I am not .

I do what I know best .

If I am a runner , I will run .

I know I am needed .

There is at least one important 

Work to be done 

That will not be done 

Unless I do it .

One of Jesus' specialties 

Is to make somebodies out of nobodies 

And I am unique .

My Prayers

Sometimes God takes his time 

In answering my prayers 

And that is not always 

For me to understand .

God's memory is perfect .

He is able to remember

My prayers not for years 

But also for generations 

Beyond my  lifetime .

He never forgets them 

And may move in response 

Long after I first brought 

My request to Him .

Sometimes His answer is no

Other times I need to wait 

Some prayer will be answered .

But His request is always measured 

With love .

God's time is rarely our own 

But it is always worth waiting for .

Healing

In God's world it is all about 

Believing and receiving .

Use healing words to make this

A better world .

Tell someone you believe in them .

Tell someone you love them .

Tell them.

have a great day .

Tell them it is great seeing them .

Let them know you care .

Tell someone they are beautiful .

Tell them you are praying for them .

Tell someone they are special .

Tell someone you are blessed 

To have them in your life .

Whenever you say these few words 

You lift them ,

Never Give Up

I pray so I do not screw up today .

I want to belong .

I want to be respected .

I will look forward

And never look back 

At what happened 

To me in the past .

It is not how I start each day 

But how I finish each day .

I know to always be good to everyone 

Then go rest .

I know some people will not except 

Me who I am .

I will never give up on those

Who have or will do me wrong .

God is always on my side .

God never gives up on anyone .

Happy And Thankful

We should spend a moment 

At the end of each day 

And decide to remember this day.

Whatever may have happened .

As a day to be grateful for 

When you spend a day or a weekend

Hunting with family and also friends

In so doing we increase our capacity

To choose joy .

It is not how much we have  ,

But how much we enjoy 

That makes happiness .

Sometimes our thoughts turn back

Toward a corner at the end of a row of trees 

Or a draw in a field 

And seeing them for the first time 

As pheasants fly high .

Yet remaining in our hearts 

Is not to be forgotten is the feeling

We have just rubbed elbows with happiness .

You Got Heart

Never let loyalty and kindness 

Leave you .

Tie them around your neck 

As a reminder .

Write them deep within your heart .

The road to the head lies 

Through the heart .

The riches that are in the heart 

Can not be stolen .

God will always take away 

The stony stubborn heart 

And give a tender 

Responsive heart .

Those who are steadily 

learning to love are enabled to do this

Because the very love of God ,

Himself , has been put into your heart  .

The head learns new things 

But the heart forevermore practices 

Old experiences .

Remember gratitude is the memory

To Share

The secret of life is that

We have the gift of grace to be shared .

You can not live a perfect day

Without  doing something 

For someone who will never 

Be able to repay you .

There are those who will use

Their skills and constructive imagination 

To see how much 

They can give for a dollar ,

Instead of how little they can give

For a dollar are bound to success .

You must be ready to do whatever

Is good to be peaceable 

And considerate and to share

True humility toward all people 

So always share your faith 

Love , goodness and joy .

You can not get away from yourself .

The more you like yourself 

The fewer people you need in your life ,

But you will always need your family

And your good friends and God .

Don't put yourself down .

Your time is so valuable .

I would rather be slow to learn

Than to be slow to love .

The wise will listen 

And add to their learning 

And let the discerning get guidance .

A single conversation across the table 

With a wise person is worth

A month's study of books .

In quietness and trust

Will be your strength .

When I am stressed ,

I think of my friends

And how much they love me

Then I will feel better

Bitterness

The energy you spend on bitterness 

Takes away some energy you could use

On your dreams .

You need to get the bitterness out of you .

You can not truly experience success

Beyond your wildest

Dream until you dare to dream something wild 

So let your bitterness go .

You need to forget and forgive .

Remember the root of bitterness

Stops goodness and joy from growing .

Remember happiness is always

Better than bitterness .

Be Gracious

Set a guard over your mouth 

Keep watch over the door of your lips .

Be thankful before you speak .

You need to control your speech .

It is all a life long work .

Gracious words are a honey comb 

Sweet to the soul and healing to the bone .

Devote your selves to prayer with an alert mind 

And a gracious and thankful heart .

I wish you and I could spend a moment 

At the end of each day 

And decide to remember that day

A New Grandma

What can I do for him ?

Everyday is a priceless gift from God 

Because now you have your grandson 

Loaded with possibilities .

This is a day the Lord has made so grandma

Rejoice and be glad in it .

Today , with your grandson is unique !

Today has never occurred before

And it will never be repeated .

At midnight it will end quietly ,

Suddenly , totally forever 

But the hours between now and then 

Are opportunities with eternal possibilities 

So grandma start with and end each day 

With a smile and love for your grandson always .

Reach High

Do not expect to be treated

Fairly everyday of your life .

People will say and do hurtful things

To you that you do not deserve .

When someone mistreats you ,

Try to view it as an opportunity 

To grow .

Do not be concerned about trying 

To set the record straight .

Do what I do .

I get away from the bad things 

And run early in the morning 

And I reach high into the sky 

Like I run with the little dipper 

And the bright stars 

And then I feel better

After my run even before

The sunlight of a new day .

You know when I run ,

I do not feel like an outsider .

My Dream

There is nothing like a dream 

To create the future .

Hope that is deferred makes 

The heart sick ,

But a dream fulfilled is a tree of life .

When I dream I like to shoot the moon ,

Even if I miss I'll land among the stars .

Nothing is as real as a dream .

The world can change around me ,

But my dream will not .

Responsibilities need not erase it .

Duties need not obscure it .

Because the dream is within me ,

No one can take the dream away .

There is surely hope for me 

And my hope will not be cut off .

I will go confidently in the direction 

Of my dream

And live the life I have imagined .

Quietness

Quietness is the classroom

Where you learn to hear .

Quietness is a place in order

To still your mind .

You will learn to carry the stillness

With you wherever you go .

You need to discipline to advance

With quietness and the over all stillness .

You will gradually learn all this ,

But it will sure take time ,

But it sure takes time to keep

Your mouth shut 

When your young or old ,

Because you don't want to hear

Any more from so and so .

You will not always understand quietness .

Remember also you can not always

Be still and quiet under a rainbow 

But also stillness and quietness

Is beautiful under a rainbow .

God's Love

A rainbow will stretch from one end .

Of the sky to the other ,

Each shade of color ,

Each facet of light displays 

The radiant spectrum 

Of God's love .

God's love never cease  .

God does not love us less 

If we fail or more if we succeed .
