Inadequate

 Sometimes I feel I am not enough

I feel like being inadequate  now and then .

I ask myself what can I say or do 

That will make a difference ?

I always try to hear what Jesus 

Tells me to do .

I know my shortcomings 

And poor judgement  will be forgiven .

I pray to Jesus

To give me grace to listen and respond 

To help everyone I can .

I feel my help for others comes from Jesus 

Who has no limitations

My Hope

Hope is always with me coupled   

With God’s grace .

I find peace and an anchor 

For my soul .

When I know God loves me 

And has my back .

It is beyond wishful thinking

And I sometimes find myself doing .

The gift of hope allows me

To know that I might sway

Side to side from day to day 

From grief , lose

And disappointment 

But I will never be lost 

Because I will always feel a hug

From God  on my sad days

And my happy days .

My Dad

I miss my dad .

It has been more than 55 years

When my dad died .

Yet at times like today 

I feel the pain .

It changed my life  forever 

Even at 14 .

He was my protector

Who kept me safe and secure .

I never really got over the loss

And he is never far from my heart and soul

And soul 

And my thoughts 

Even when I go hunting

Or fishing even today .

Oh dad I love you so .

My Grandchild

I do not get to see my squeaky  ,

My Smiley every day .

He is getting so big  everyday .

I do not get to talk to him much

But every night 

Before I go to sleep 

I pray for him and  I tell the Lord 

I  love him 

And I ask the Lord to guide

Him with every step he makes .

I will always want to help  him

Feel special .

I would like to help everyone 

Make them feel special .

The Lord hears me and helps

Me feel special oh so special

Mom

They ask us how are you doing these days ? 

I tell them we watched our mom 

Handle any and all obstacles 

Life threw her way .

We are sure she cried herself to sleep 

Many nights ,

But she always got up every morning

And did an amazing job 

Raising her boys  .

We could never be weak 

Because we learned from the best .

We could always talk to her 

About anything 

And she would not judge us .

We will always keep her 

In our lives and in our hearts .

Parents

 

Parents do not need tears

When they die .

They need your hugs 

Smiles laughter love and your care.

When they are alive .

Lord we can not stand along 

Without you .

You never know 

When the sands of time 

Will run out 

So bless your parents tonight .

To those who have died 

Go outside tonight

When it is dark 

And look up to the stars 

And say thank you …….

The Tongue

The tongue has no bones

But it is strong enough 

To break a heart .

So be careful with your words .

Some days are better than others .

With your tongue be positive 

And stay strong .

You can never do everything 

But you can do your best .

Some days you need to pray 

For a miracle .

For God can do the impossible .

Always thank God for the gift of life .

Sometimes  you have to wash 

Your mouth and tongue  out with soap

God’s Channel

We may be crying  and worrying  ?

Worrying is about a conversation 

We have with our selves 

About things we can not change .

How attentive are we

When we cry or hear a cry 

A whimper or moans of shouts .

To those in need around us ?

We need to be a channel 

Of God’s tenderness.

To those in need through our listening 

Our reaching out 

Our advocation  and prayers .

Love Patience Contentment

To demand love

Is to lose love .

Truth is like love 

It is something we discover

Contentment .

Patience is a great remedy 

Becoming panicky .

Contentment comes in part

From faith that is 

From knowing the purpose of life 

And being assured 

That whatever the trails are

They come from a loving Father .

Keep going because a person

in heaven 

Does not want you to quit .

You know having money

In your pocket

Is good ,

But having Jesus in your heart 

Is perfect .

Kindness does not cost a thing 

Yet it is the richest gift

You can give .

You have left by
