Look What I See

When I look out mom's front door ,

I can see the beautiful frosting outside ,

But wait when I do go outside ,

I can see the great cake .

The color of the cake out front

Puts a color punch to my face .

Everything outside feeds on its self  .

When I am outside ,

Grandpa often feels devoured

By the demands of family life .

Grandpa creates hope

When his grandchild needs

Grandpa sometimes can do

Great things by letting somethings go .

Grandpa will put his grandchild 

On his shoulder

For we all live on the shoulders

Of those who came before us .

The grandchild is clothed with the sun . 

Grandpa will walk in his grandchild's

Light  and he will be filled 

With his grandchild's life .

It is how you see things

That determines your courage .

Oh no Lord I want to be brave .

Yes I know I need to see things

I need to be firm .

I am stronger than I look .

I know strength is invisible .

I do not fear everything .

Grandpa could always build

A bridge to anyone or any where .

He dreamed with his eyes open
