The Ability

I would like to have the capacity 

To teach more than Xs and Os 

And to show love .

I would like to spread joy .

I would like to put a smile on the faces

Of  those who are sick 

And take away their pain for a little while .

I would like to have the ability 

And the strength to handle my times

Of trial and distress .

The ability to reach out to the poor 

And those alienated .

The ability to have and share 

Compassion , tenderness and generosity .

I pray that I can make

A difference in someone's live every day .
