The Ability

I would like to have the capacity

To teach more than X and Os

And show love .

I would like to spread joy .

I would like to put a smile on the face 

Of those who are sick 

And take away the pain for awhile .

I would like to have the ability 

And the strength to handle my time

Of trial and distress .

The ability to reach out to the poor

And those alienated .

The ability to have and share 

Compassion , tenderness and generosity .

I pray that I can make a difference 

In someone's life every day .
