He Blesses Us

He takes up my pain 

And bore out suffering .

God blesses us who patiently

Endure testing and temptation .

Afterwards we will receive 

The crown of life 

That God has promised 

To us who love Him .

We are afflicted in every way ,

But not crushed , perplexed 

But not driven to dispair , persecuted ,

But not forsaken 

Stuck down but not broken .
