A child looking up at night looking for the moon .
In the early morning light
As the child wakes up
Oh to see through his clear sparkling eyes !
Oh to watch him play all out .
When he takes a nap ,
Oh to watch him sleep .
To watch him wake up and again all ready to go
To play with his toys of the day .
He wants to show
What he can do for the first time in his life .
He wants grandpa to see
What is red , White and blue
And oh so new .
He loves going outside and playing under the sun ,
Like swinging high and having fun ,
Like riding a horse or driving a jeep .
Oh just to watch the child eat
Just like grandpa !
The action of just one day
And an early morning makes
Grandpa sleepy at night
But never the grandson !
He has more energy than me !
