My Heart

I sometimes close my eyes

To help me focus

And block out distractions

When I pray .

I do not need to close

My eyes to praise God .

I can pray at any time ,

At any place .

I can pray when I run ,

Pull weeds or fish

Or hunt , or ride a bike

Or drive a vehicle .

I can get down on my knees .

I can spread out my hands

Toward the heavens .

I can pray when I sit or stand

Or lay down even face down .

It is not the posture of my body

But of my heart .

I know God's eyes and ears

Are always attentive to my prayers .
