You can look to God as your friend .
You can have a personal sense
Of His love for you
And His interest
In you and what you do .
He is concerned about you .
He wants your companionship .
He wants you to be close to Him .
He wants to shield you ,
To protect you , to counsel you
And guide you all through your life .
You should become friends with God
Because he is already a friend of yours .
God's friendship is the unexpected joy
You find when you reach
For his outstretched hand .
