My dearest friend has slipped away
Alcohol has taken over his life .
I think he is in a addiction trap .
Give me the strength to face him any way .
Give me the strength to strengthen
My resolve to chose not to drink
And be strong and do all that I can
To help my friend
For I even take one day at a time
And God lets me hold his hand
Sometimes all 24 HRS in a long day
For I am also concerned about me .
