My Heroes

They were my example .

They were remarkable

Thorn survivors .

They lived with fear ,

They knew how to live 

With despair ,

With loneliness ,

And their illness 

And from time to time 

With a broken heart .

When there was no miracle 

They knew how to live 

With permanent loss .

They always said 

They were fine 

For the shape 

They were in 

And they said

God supplies 

All their needs 

One day at a time .
