A prayer is not a monologue ,
But a dialogue .
God's voice in response
To mine is its most essential part .
A prayer opens to God
And it is the means by which the soul
Though empty ,
Is filled by God .
Holy prayer is in the column
Of all virtues
Like a ladder to God .
Prayer has a mighty power
To sustain the soul in every season
Of its distress and sorrow .
Prayer is the guide to perfection .
For the one way to become perfect
Is to walk in the presence of God .
When my life becomes to hard
I kneel and pray again and again .
