My mom would call me out as I slammed
The door on my way to school .
She would say have a good day and I love you .
I would turn back and say bye .
I did not notice the words .
Nevertheless my mom's love remained steadfast .
When I was a child I sometimes
Took mom's love for granted .
Sometimes now I do the same thing
With my Father's love .
I forget to listen to God and respond .
I forget to be grateful .
I know that God's love for me remains steadfast .
It is the reality that provides a sure foundation
For all my life .
I love you all
