Take a moment and ponder the joy
That God has a gift in giving to God's children .
like a loving parent or grandparent
Delights in giving their child or grandchild a gift .
God delights even more in giving us
The kingdom through Christ Jesus .
When we let reality sink in
The impact on our lives can be profound .
All too often our delight in God's gifts
To us seems to be subdued .
Rather than reflecting God's joy
And generous nature in worship
And daily life ,
We focus more on pursuing our goals
And acting properly in worship ,
Smiling and nodding .
What difference might it make to remind
Ourselves each day that God loves us
And delights in giving us the kingdom ?
What difference might it make to remind
Ourselves that reaching out to us
Through Christ is God's greatest pleasure ,
That we are God's joy .
Oh what might change in how we live ,
Love , give and trust and serve God
and help friends , family and everyone
You run into .
