When each of your children
Take a different journey in life
It has taught me quite a bit
As I have supported , listened
And watched .
Most fundamentally , I have learned
That the journeys are theirs .
These human beings are not my possessions .
I know these young people are loved by God
For who they are .
I know that they have been chosen by him .
The best thing I can do for them
Is also the only thing I can do which is pray .
