As A Child

         

When I was a child 

I spent time being with my grandma once and awhile .

The outdoors of grass , rocks , dirt , mud 

Whatever the setting 

I found a toy that would keep me happy playing for hours .

Sometimes other children 

Would join in ,

Each adding another wellspring of imagination .

Now and then toys would be lost sometimes for good .

But today's kids play with themselves with legos

And the lagos get lost 

And the kids of today 

Will never have that special feelings with friends 

As I once did .

May we all share our own imagination !
