Jesus has called us to be
His light to the world .
I believe those who shine
Are meant to move out
Into the night .
Just as objects that glow
Are most useful in the dark .
So our simple loving presence
In this troubled world has great value .
Still , we all face days when we do not
Feel all that bright and shiny
During those times
It helps me to think about the tiny
light sources like a match ,
A small flashlight .
When we step out to help others ,
Even our faintest glow can serve
As a beacon of God's love .
