When I receive bad news
I can become stuck on an ending
Cycle of paralyzing fear .
I have been surrounded by prayers
And encouragement from many family
And friends .
As a result , time and again
As my journey continues ,
I marvel at my age how small a burden
The weight of my circumstances seems to be .
Some how the Holy Spirit lightens
The weight of my burdens
Through others prayers , acts of kindness
And words of encouragement .
When we know someone who is
Going through a difficult time ,
A simple text , a card or a meal or just a ride
Maybe enough to relieve
A portion of the burden .
