Oh when the facade crumbles
The effort it takes to be honest with yourself
And put the past behind you .
Not in a pretend it did not happen
Kind of way .
But in a do not keep giving past hurts
The present power kind of way .
You do not complete this in just one flash
Of understanding .
It is an ongoing hard work
But the good news is that God
Has redeemed our past
And gives us a future worth living for
And makes such a future with some actual hope .
You need to work toward your recovery and stability
And you never do it on your own .
You have your friends and family
And Jesus to lean on .
Jesus will help you let go
And help you go where you need to go
so let go .
