Measure Up

We all have a yard stick or measuring tape .

I think the evil people give them away 

And are delighted to see them used .

Those people who leave Mass immediately 

After the Eucharist 

And those people who live in a nice part of town ,

Those who make more money ,

Comparing how we measure up to others 

Can make us feel smug and self satisfied 

Or depressed , envious and hopeless .

Remember , God's measurement 

When it comes to our eternal 

Disposition is not about how much better

Or worse we live our lives 

Versus our neighbors .

It is more about how well

We love and serve our neighbors .
