I am reminded of times
In my life
When he shows unusual kindness .
Nine out of ten ,
It is the smallest acts
That have made the most difference
Like an encouraging word
When I really need it ,
An invitation to dinner
When I feel lonely
And the list goes on .
These action have made a lasting impression
On me and changed the way
That I am attentive to and respond
To the needs of others .
I do the best not only
To help when called on
But to look for situations
In which the need may
Be less obvious .
