I Am A Pit Stop

Our child is our universe 

It always tries to lead us

To great things ,

But as the child grows

And set its sights ,

It is up to us to steer 

The child up the right

Direction 

Until they reach maturity .

As a dad I must endear their youth 

And I must have patience along the way .

I know , no trouble I face with the child 

Is a problem for God

That is why I pray .

As a dad I love our child every day ,

But I am truly just a pit stop to mommy 

These days .
