As I sit outside tonight
The night sky was ablaze
With stars , planets and twinkling lights .
The Milky Way and the rest of the cosmos
Was vividly on display .
As I looked up ,
I was struck by the fact that the light
I was seeing was ancient light
That died out a long time ago .
Jesus said , I am the light of the world .
This message is still true .
His light will not expire in the lives
Of His people through the passage of time .
