The Gift

A birthday celebration 

Will make people think 

And to take stock of life .

We need to number our days 

That we may gain 

A heart of wisdom .

How and if we have grown 

In God's grace ?

Have we learned to love our neighbors ?

Are we able to confess

Our short comings and to seek God's guidance 

So that our lives are more pleasing 

To the Lord .

Whether we are young or old at heart !

We can seek the Lords presence 

And commit our time and prayers

To serve God

And our fellow human being .
